St. Ignatius of Antioch was the 3rd Bishop of that city, a successor of St. Peter, and a disciple of St. John the Apostle. In about the year 107 AD, Trajan, the Emperor of Rome, condemned St. Ignatius to be taken to Rome and there fed to the lions for the gratification of the people. St. Ignatius of Antioch showed, through incredible courage and leadership, what being a true witness of Jesus was all about.

We have much to learn about heroic leadership from the life of this incredible martyr. St. Ignatius of Antioch wrote seven letters to the Churches in Asian Minor while one his journey to Rome. These letters, are incredible insights into the life of the first century Christian Church.
